Week 1 was a tricky one to predict in La Liga but hopefully we’ll see some form trends emerging from the second week onwards; albeit with some teams, like Barcelona, still on a siesta. In Barca’s situation, it’s affording them time to clear up some domestic issues! Real Madrid are in action and it will be exciting to see how they fare first up against Real Sociedad who are a good team – they finished 6th last season and have brought in David Silva from Man City in the transfer window.
Getafe and Osasuna play on Friday night. These teams were very close last season, finishing 8th and 10threspectively. In the last 10 head-to-heads between these two, six have been drawn so I’ll pick a draw here.
Villarreal disappointed in week 1 by drawing to Huesca but I will back them to overcome Eibar. My other banker will be Granada to beat Deportivo Alaves. Good things are happening down there and with their Chinese investors, they have qualified to play in the Europa League this season.
