It is a reduced start to the La Liga season – Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico and Sevilla are all not in action but that gives an opportunity to look at some of the other teams as they get going. Kick-off is on Friday night and it is a really enticing game to watch as both teams have some exciting talent. Granada were the surprise package last season and finished 7th and they are up against Athletic Bilbao who finished in a disappointing 11th position for them. I see a score draw here.
Two newly-promoted teams, namely Cadiz and Huesca, will be on display and I think they will struggle in their first games. Cadiz play Osasuna (10th last season) and Huesca face Villarreal (5th last season). The last game on Sunday is Valencia vs Levante. It’s sad to see what is happening at Valencia these days. There’s been something of a fire sale at the club, selling some good players and with fans protesting, the owners have basically come out and said, “We don’t care about them, it’s our club.” So Levante (12th last season) could be a well-priced flutter here.
