Serie A is underway! Not all the teams are in action in week 1 but Juventus are! It will be fascinating to see them with the legend Andrea Pirlo in charge and I’m going to bank my bet on them starting with a win over Sampdoria. La Vecchia Signoria (The Old Lady) is going for a 10th consecutive Serie A title and can anyone stop them? Let’s have a look…
Internazionale came 2nd in the league last season and were Europa League runners up, but this season they will have the Antonio Conte continuity factor. They play Benevento but only on Wednesday so up to you if you include them in a wager this weekend or wait until then but they must be another banker for a first game win.
Atalanta and Lazio, 3rd and 4th last season respectively, play each other on Wednesday so that will be a stimulating game to see how they are both looking early on in the season but probably best to stay away from in terms of a bet!
Roma was 5th last season and they play Hellas Verona. I hear they’ve had a few injuries recently and their only real acquisition was Pedro from Chelsea so I would wait on them for now.
Milan, 6th last season, have been steadily improving. They signed Zlatan in January and they’ve been quietly busy in adding to their squad. They’ll make spaghetti of Bologna’s defence on Monday!
Napoli were a disappointing 7th last season but they did improve with Gattuso in charge and they won the cup. They have also made the biggest signing of the transfer window so far, acquiring Nigerian international Victor Osimhen from Lille for 70m Euros. They play Parma and I would put them in as a 3rd leg if you are looking for a treble.
The double @ 1/1
Juventus to beat Sampdoria
AC Milan to beat Bologna
Add for a treble @ 2/1:
Napoli to beat Parma
